Ellen

Once upon a time, their was a beautiful, young woman named, Ellen, living in New York City.

Ellen possessed a rare gift, she had the most beautiful voice anyone ever heard.

Ellen had a lot to sing about. She had been through so much more than the average person ever comes close to experiencing. She lost her father when she was eleven, she was the oldest of five. At that time they lived in a nice big house and were pretty well off. Ellen was very close to him. He was an excellent father and a fine husband. This was all really hard on Elizabeth, Ellen's mother, who was very busy with young children. Ellen had to take care of her siblings and help her mother, who had to go out and work to feed the family. After six years of being the responsible one, she felt that she had been through enough to go out and find a new life. Ellen came to NYC at 17, to go to school to be an opera singer. Tough place for such a young woman on her own. Through her struggle to survive, she found herself among Artists and Poets. Ellen joined in with the beat nicks, creating Art and writing Poetry, in the Village.

One fine day she met a gorgeous, young man in a cafe, on East 3rd Street. He was an artist, working as a contractor of construction, and had spent two years in college, studying Psychology. They liked each other a lot and moved in together. Ellen thought the world of her man. His voice was music to her ears. She wanted to make a family with him. He too thought the world of her and her gorgeous voice, so he was open to it.

On Valentines Day, which happened the day before her nineteenth birthday, they had a special dinner celebration. They spent hours together, enjoying each other to the fullest. This certainly did the trick. However, when she became pregnant, her hormones went wild, as did she. In her attempt to process her feelings, that she didn't understand and couldn't explain, she acted in such a way that her man couldn't understand, so he got upset, which made things worse, which led to more misunderstanding and upset feelings and acting strangely, which made them both pretty uncomfortable with each other. Because they were both young, free spirited and unaware of how it gets to be, when women get pregnant, they weren't aware of what was happening. Ellen informed her man, that she was pregnant. They went to get it checked out. They were told the test was negative. Though, they weren't told that the test (killing the rabbit), usually works only after three to four months and the symptoms of pregnancy can be witnessed immediately, or even what the symptoms are. Ellen insisted that the test was wrong. Her man trusted the test. At the time, he couldn't understand how medical science could ever be wrong. This led him to the assumption that something was wrong with her. He wanted nothing to do with it. He took her to stay with a friend. Off he went on a mission to save the Earth.

Ellen was very sad that he was gone, but she was very happy that he didn't leave her alone.

Ellen was about to have a baby. Some how Ellen knew this baby was a girl. She called her Lisa.

Lisa was all the wonder and joy in the world to Ellen. Ellen sang to Lisa for hours whenever she could, which happened most of the time. There wasn't much of a support system for her in NYC, so she moved back in with her mother. Elizabeth was very supportive of her grandchild. She had energy to help Ellen with Lisa now that the other children were in their teens. The problem was Ellen was vulnerable in a social structure, that didn't approve of having a child out of wedlock.

One dreadful day, Ellen was out alone and feeling a bit tipsy, as pregnant women often do. She was captured and sent to a mental institution, where she was locked up, until Lisa was born. Ellen was never allowed to see her most treasured joy. Lisa was brought to an orphanage awaiting adoption. Ellen was released with a broken heart. The loss of Lisa, had become her worst night mare. Lisa's mother was devastated. Ellen lost everything and more. Because, Ellen's father died, Elizabeth was also vulnerable, being a widow, single mother and not so wealthy. Elizabeth was used against Ellen by a corrupt system, in the adoption arena, which at the time was commonplace. What was left of her family, was torn apart and lost forever. Lisa was made a ward of the state and sent to a foster home, with the name baby girl. The foster parents wanted to adopt her after a couple of months. However, in the process, they learned that, baby girl, was born in a mental institution. They pleaded the court to remove her as soon as possible. Ellen found Lisa and took her back to NYC, where she was captured after 4 months. They sent Lisa back to the orphanage and left Ellen in NYC once again all alone, with a broken heart.

Then one day Ellen met Charlie, they had a baby girl...
